ABOUT
Nadia Klionsky Olidort is an award-winning artist based in New York, where she most recently held the position of Senior Studio Artist at a major New York City design company. Nadia began her education as a classically trained painter in St. Petersburg, Russia, and moved on to study at the Cooper Union in New York and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Over the past 30 years, Nadia has brought her traditional painting skills to the world of design, where she has worked her vision into scarf designs for Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, and Adrienne Vittadini, among others, and has worked on the designs of scarves for blockbuster exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Most recently, Nadia has developed the designs for a series of limited edition scarves, each with a unique story and aesthetic meant to inspire the individuals who wear them. For one of these scarves, “Tassel Rhapsody,” the company received the Accessories Council of Excellence Award in 2019.
Nadia has embraced design as an extension of her traditional painting, yet continues to stay close to her roots and personal expression through her landscapes and conceptual work. As a second generation artist, Nadia has been represented by Hammer Galleries in New York and by Elizabeth Moss Galleries in Maine, has presented her work at the International Biennale in Florence, Italy, and has received numerous awards for her landscapes such as the Katlan Seascape Award (2016) and the Alden Bryan Memorial Medal for Traditional Landscapes (2018). Nadia’s paintings are presented separately here.
